About

The Egyptian Association for Surgical Training (E.A.S.T), established in 2023, is the first academic institution in the Middle East that aims to provide high-quality and innovative surgical training and education for young and experienced surgeons.

Founded by Mohamed Maher, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist with the help of a group of dedicated and experienced surgeons who recognized the need for a national platform to support and advocate for the interests of surgical trainees and trainers.

Our mission to serve members form different countries and various surgical specialties. EAST provides opportunities for continuous professional development and lifelong learning for surgical trainees and trainers through, workshops, courses, conferences, and online resources.

Promoting research and innovation in surgical education and practice through grants, awards, publications, and collaborations, and also represent and protect the rights and welfare of surgical trainees and trainers through policy development, advocacy, and networking.

E.A.S.T is affiliated with several reputable organizations; Evidence Based Women Health Society, Ganna Hospital, SurgiTales Medical Video Production, and La Femme Clinics.

E.A.S.T is committed to advancing the standards and practice of surgical care in Egypt and beyond and welcomes all surgical trainees and trainers who share the vision and mission to join its membership and activities.

We offer innovative training programs that cover general surgical skills as well as specialty-oriented procedures. The programs are tailored to the needs and levels of the participants, whether they are students, trainees, registrars, consultants, educators, researchers, or administrators in the field of surgery.

To endow our trainees with the skills and expertise necessary to provide the best quality service in their field of specialty, and we strive to instill a spirit and passion to reach great sense of confidence in their skill and use that knowledge to improve the overall quality of their community.

To become the main body entrusted in Egypt with accrediting the competence of doctors in surgical procedures and contributes to training programs for surgeons and interns, and for its recommendations and adoptions to be recognized worldwide.
