Pectopexy
A novel procedure for managing organ prolapse.
Pectopexy is supporting the prolapsed organ with mesh to the iliopectineal ligament.
This is an interesting case of 4th degree uterine prolapse, i had the privilege and was lucky to surgically manage.
This young woman was only 28yrs old at time of operation (2021), previous 2 c-sections and complained of uterine prolapse, rectocele and sagging of vaginal wall.
Patient was about Pectopexy being better option than Scrocoplopexy. Avoiding injury to para-sacral structures and intestine and lower incidence of major bleeding and dyspareunia.
Surgical procedure
1-Pectopexy
2-transabdominal repair of rectocele
3-tightening of introitus
Almost 3 years now from the operation and she has no complaints or issues disturbing her normal daily routine.
